What You'll Do
• Develop and execute business plans with agency partners to improve book performance, focusing on profitability, retention, and new business growth.
• Underwrite new and renewal submissions, assessing risk, determining acceptability, and setting pricing and terms aligned with company guidelines.
• Act as a trusted advisor to agents and internal teams, leveraging market insights to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
• Manage a desk proactively-monitor deal flow, negotiate terms, and ensure balanced risk ratios across multiple coverages.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt strategies and maintain competitive positioning.
• Utilize technology and data-driven tools to streamline underwriting processes and enhance decision-making.
What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of progressive underwriting experience, ideally in commercial P&C or niche markets (crop or specialty lines preferred).
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with a sales-oriented mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make data-informed decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Comfortable with travel (approx. 20%) for agency visits and team collaboration.
